Time is 1:26p.m. Just got home from work via taxi. I paid a good $16.50 for the fee. Why i say it's good is coz of the advice the uncle gave to me and Ezan. Currently, we are working at a rate of $3.50 per hour. For Ezan, he has full shifts almost everyday which is 12 hours(Today was 15 hours for him). So he asks us. Is it really worth it? Ten years ago, a cup of coffee costs $0.40 and McDonalds pays $3.50 per hour. Ten years later, coffee costs more than $0.80 but the pay is still the same. It's not because of the economy, it's because we youths are being robbed, pushed around and hassled with.
'You work till late at night and still have to pay this taxi fee. That's your money on transportation for work. Nowadays, Singapore is worse than a communist country. We work and earn. The government takes our money for CPF, Medishield and what not. They invest this money in shares and lose. But it's not their money that's lost, it's our money, our work. It's a shame to what Singapore has come to.'
He had that much to say. I'll never forget what he said. Oppurtunities come and go, you don't get to decide when but you can decide whether to take it or let it go and when you do choose to let it go, then you have lost.
